International
testing has proven that Nile Fiber™ fibers make
a high quality commercial pulp. Nile Fiber™ pulp can
be used for various paper products typically made from
wood fibers, such as printing and writing paper, paperboard,
packaging, tissue and toweling grades of paper, as well
as molded products like paper plates, cups and trays.
The
Advantage of Nile Fiber™ Cane
Nile Fiber™ has a distinct advantage over other non-wood fibers because it can be processed in all types of existing chemical wood pulping facilities (Kraft, Sulfite, Soda and CTMP and TMP) without facility modifications. Our ongoing
research and testing continue to uncover new cost- and
time-saving technical procedures that are unique to
the Nile Fiber™ pulping process, such as a lower bleaching
requirement and less digestion time. This work is protected
by multiple patents and patents pending worldwide.
A Successful Commercial Pulp Run!
In
March 2002, The Nile Group, Inc. and Samoa Pacific successfully
completed the first commercial Totally Chlorine Free
(TCF) pulp run using 100% Nile Fiber™. The Nile Fiber™ pulp manufactured at the Samoa Pacific mill is the only
non-wood Kraft TCF pulp processed in the Western Hemisphere. For
